Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to common questions about Lost & Found.

Yes! Lost & Found is completely free for reporting and searching for items. We offer optional premium features and accept donations to keep the platform running.

When you report a lost item, our AI engine analyzes the description, category, location, and any uploaded images. It continuously scans all found reports and notifies you when a potential match is detected — usually within seconds.

QR tags are unique codes you can generate and attach to your belongings (laptops, bags, keys, etc.). If someone finds your item, they scan the QR code and can immediately contact you through the app — no personal information is exposed.

Go to your Profile → Settings → ID Verification. Upload a valid government-issued ID. Our team reviews it within 24 hours. Verified users get a trust badge and higher visibility in search results.

Absolutely. We use end-to-end encryption for chats, never share personal data without consent, and comply with international privacy standards. Read our Privacy Policy for full details.

Item owners can optionally set a monetary reward when reporting a lost item. When a finder returns the item, the reward is transferred through our secure payment system. Additionally, finders earn platform points and badges.

Found items can be reported without revealing your identity to the owner until you choose to connect. However, you do need an account to use the reporting features for accountability purposes.

When you receive a match notification, open the in-app chat to discuss specific details that prove ownership (e.g., unique marks, contents). Then arrange a meetup at a safe public location. Both parties leave a review after the handover.

You can support us by donating, sharing the app with friends, leaving a review on the App Store or Google Play, and contributing feedback through our Request a Feature page.
